If sound is your problem, look at getting a 2.5" resonator, usually, they will fit in right after the cat. i think there's 18" of straight pipe there, so, just get a resonator that will fit ($50) and go get a muffler place to weld it in.

beilieve it or not from all indacations from people i have talked to the eclipse v6 stock muffler is great for performance and is very quiete. So if you left your 2.5 on there and put the eclipse muffler it prolly give you the sound you want.

Well lets see here? Your running a NA 2.2L OHV with 2.5" pipes?

why?

2.25" piping, 18-28" resonator, high flow cat, and a Dynomax super turbo muffler, is the most loved setup.

How do you guys fit the 28" res's in there? Do you just eliminate the cat, and utelize all that space?

not to hijack the thread but i am going to be putting my header on and a high flow cat but i can not decide on a muffler also. i want a quiet-not loud at all muffler. i was told to go with like a 4chamber flowmaster and a res. would that be quiet. and also the pace setter cat backs how loud are they, and if i got the cat back if i put the res, would it be quiet? i have a pace setter header and a high flow cat 2.5? thanks guys
