Ok. I did the HO manifold swap and when i started the car it idled high then eventually came down to about 1000-1300. One of the guys that was doing this with me took the butterfly valve out and kinda @!#$ it up so it doesnt close ALL the way there is just a little space so i guess that would account for a little bit of the high idle. The other problem is, It wont shift, all i have is first gear, even in drive. Also, the brake light is on and the up shift light. Any suggestions?
From the sounds of things.. your friend took the TB plate out and put it back in backwards. It only seats correctly one way. Give that a shot.

we tried putting that thing in every which way from sunday. i think the surface is just a little messed up so its catching on the wall of the throttle body, im gonna get a new one today and see what happens. i really need to find out what the hell is going on with the transmission and why it wont shift now
make sure the plug is plugged in for the trans , its close to wear the tb sits
i had 1 on my auto and never had any problems
does anyone have good pics that show where all the connections are that would change after this swap. ive gone over the whole thing numerous times but i might miss something. i have a tendancy to let the small things kick my butt
anyone else have any ideas
take the screws out of the plate and play around with everything untill it closes, then see where the holes are, you'll know exactly how it goes back together. as for the trans.... connections, its not hard to look, head out there with a good light (trouble light) or flashlight and dig in, you'll find it.

its not that the valve is the wrong way its that i got messed up when he took it out. ive got the deal with the throttle body fixed. ive looked over the trans up and down, its not that simple as a connection not in
