OEM TB question
Friday, March 18, 2005 3:33 PM
I couldn't find it in a search, so here I am asking.

What is the size of the stock TB on a 2001 Z24?

What is the maximum CFM flow rate of the stock unit?

What upgraded TB sizes are available?

What do the upgraded units cost?

Can the stock unit be ported a little larger than stock, if so, how much room is there to play with?

Thanks in advance,

Brandon

I invented the idea of sniffing your fingers when you've spilled gas on them.

For future reference, OEM means "Original Equipment Manufacturer" aka GM

The stock one can be bored out to 62mm max. You can contact "Nitro" jarrett_beier@excite.com and he will make you a 59mm T/B plate for $8 and then you can just take it to a machine shop to have it bored out. You can also contact this email address (sorry forgot his name) bolton_horsepower@yahoo.com and he will bore your stock one out to 62mm and make a T/B plate for you for around $150

This info was in the FAQ at the top of the page on page 5

2.2L 52mm
2.4L 52mm
2.3L 56mm
Ecotec 2.2L 58mm

49mm TB flows 252 cfm
52mm TB flows 283 cfm
55mm TB flows 317 cfm
60mm TB flows 377 cfm
