what im doing is leaving the stock intake tube but i want to put a
k&n filter on the stock tube.

question. what is the diameter for the end of the stock tube and the diameter for the filter

pretty much any intake filter will fit, i believe the standard is 3".

do you know the part # for k&n filters

here's what I did for my old 95 Cav. i got a piece of 3" exhaust tubing that was 3" O.D. at one end, and 3"I.D. at the other. I forget which end went where, but the tubing fit right inside the stock intake tube and the filter went on the other end. you may have to use a hammer or rubber mallet to sort of "ovalize" the end that goes into the intake tube, but it will work.

you can get a cone filter from Pep Boys or a local speed shop
