Ok, I was thinking today at work after we had two regular 2200 S-10's and then a Extreme come in for an oil change, Would the intake off a 2200 S-10 fit a 2200 Cav?
I am pretty sure that it would bolt up to the head no problem but since its kinda like the '97 and older intakes except it sits leaned towards the front of the engine, would it hit something like the power steering or somthing in that area? (I'll try to find some pics)
The reason I'm thinking of this is because if you lean the intake away from the back of the motor maybe you could get a distributer back into it? (
here is the reason why I would want to do this)

dont know if it will fit but id like to know id like to do this
Didn't first gen j-bodies use a distributor?
I'm would think they do, otherwise there would be no point of putting a hole like that in the block just for the oil pump

well after further examination, I believe the swap would be possible if the power steering pump were to be eliminated, other than that I'm pretty sure that it will fit leaving about 4-4.5 inches of room under the intake for a distributer, time to search carpart for a manifold
and now for power steering, I know its nice to have in parking lots and slow turns but on the road it won't make much difference I feel, or.......
Possibly would the power steering rack from a Cobalt fit a Cav??
because I know that they have an electric pump on the rack itself
I'm kinda just playing with ideas here but I think that I'm getting somewhere
