building my own intake: Filter recomendations

I'm building my own intake, and am looking for universal filter recomendations. This is going on my 2002 Z 24, and i know there are a variety of sizes. Can someone recomend a good filter, and are there any size issues. This is for a short ram style intake. Thanks.

I like K&N part number RR-3003 polished, RR-3002 blue, RR-3001 red because it has an open top.

Problem with buying one from ebay is that the shipping is typically more than the intake. Fabricating the pipe from a template of my buddies intake out of some 3" stainless piping.

Go to http://www.knfilters.com and find about four or five filters you like, then shop around. Try sites like Summit Racing, Jeg's, AutoZone, Advance/discount, etc.. You would be supprised just how competative those last two are, though they would have to special order the filters, but price wise and shipping time work out to be the same or faster than the first two.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help. Think I'll spend the xtra cash and get the K&N. Sounds like the RR 3002 would work for me.
