Wrapping the intake pipe

Would using a heat wrap like used on headers help on the intake side. I'm thinking, and tell me if I'm wrong, it would act like a heat shield and keep the air temp down, therefore a denser air charge? It would probably look like hell, but this is a performance forum.

It takes less than a tenth of a second for the air to get from your filter to your throttle body, its not going to pick up that much heat in your intake pipe.

The only way you're gonna pick up enough heat to make a difference is if you're using an aluminum IM (HO style for example), but the stock IM is plastic and won't pick up much heat, let alone transfer it to the air. You'll pick up much more heat from the engine than from engine bay air. Not worth it.
