Eco cams worth it or not?

browsing the forum i see a whole lot of people who have had numerous problems with their cams, from little hp gains to trouble code hell. I toyed with the idea of nitrous for a week, and decided I want to keep my motor, and no matter how safe you are with it, accidents can still happen.

so, im thinking about after the car is paid off this summer, and the warranty is up, so prolly next summer, I was going to start chucking bolt ons at it.

nothing too serious, I was thinking a 72mm throttlebody, pace setter header, finishing up the exhaust to full 2 1/4" all the way back w/ a high flow cat,and then some JBP cams custom ground to fit my engine specs.

the question is, will it be worth it??? total cost will be north of 1k, but, if i can get the same gains out of those mods as i would have with a 50 dry shot, i would be happy.

however, if the car is going to run like crap, be un reliable, and maybe only gain 10hp off those mods, im not so sure I want to go that route. any suggestions?

FYI, im broke, so the cheaper and the faster while still having a reliable daily driver, the better!

Cams are definately worth it in the long run, when matched with other mods. And a 72 mm TB is WAY to big
