well im just wondering if the cold air intakes that are on ebay are long enough to reach the air flow through the fender. Could you post you Cold air intakes, not short rams bc ur not getting any power outta those, thank you
I don't think Unorthodox Racing makes "ebay" intakes for our cars.
OOooh, you mean "your" hmm. Well then, I can't help you.
i dont think they actually sell any on ebay that reach that point..most are custom made...if im not mistaken.....mine is routed toward the ground
and the ones on ebay do have higher flowing filters and whatnot, i think it made my car a bit faster

it's not ghetto, it's "in progress"
what do u mean that ur not getting any power from a short ram??? if u happened to read the FAQ, u would see that the clod air and short ram are basically the same both gain like 5-7hp (as stated in the faq). it was also stated that the short ram maybe gained more hp. so y spend the extra money on the cold air when it wont get u any more than a short ram?
this is my sig
the search button is your friend use it and apply it... and dont say things that you dont know are true.... thats the nicest way to put it to you i am sure others wont be as nice

go dyno them both.... and then tell us the short ram is no good
i got one of the short rams off ebay and i love it i mean it looks just like an AEM or any other brand just didn't pay over $100 i paid 35 lol
me and a friend made a CAI for his 98 cavy ourselves...he doesn't like to buy anything off ebay lol, plus i got all the stuff to do it for free, so his only cost was the price of the filter. Anyways we removed all the stock air box and bong and routed it down through the hole by the battery (we had to widen it out some to fit the new pipe through) and we ended up having the cone filter about 4" from the ground. we took it for a few spins, and after talking some and doing a lil research on the net , decided to change it to a WAI to just see if it would make any difference...and it might be all in our heads but the WAI seemed to make more of a difference, and sounded better too.

this is a picture from a LONG time ago right after i made my own cai.

jus drill 1/2" holes into ur stock airbox.. does the same thing an doesnt cost a dime
I've played around with many different intakes on my car. I have built all my own, I won't pay some crazy price to buy a piece of pipe and a air filter. Cold air vs Warm air or short ram...
I have found that the warm air or shortram seemed to give more tq in the lower rpm range like 2500 rpm on but seems to hit the wall at 4500 - 5000 rpms. As opposed to the CAI where the sweet spot starts more around 3000 rpm and pulls all the way to redline.
At this time I am back to the CAI, it is routed in behind the battery into the fenderwell. The bottom plastic piece of the fenderwell I cut out so there isn't really anything restricting airflow to the filter at all. The one downside to this is that the filter gets dirty quite quickley so I'm cleaning and re-oiling about every two months.

What kind of piping did you guys use to make your intakes, and also where did u get it from?
Thanks

Thanks
i took my Injen short ram, cut it off after the bend (about 1/2 of the Injen sticker). bought a 92-95 Civic short ram from AutoZone ($35 US) and hooked it up. Keep an eye on your air filter location if your car is lowered. My filter ends up being about 6" from the ground and i've never had any problems with it getting wet. But keep an eye on it. Just don't do puddle jumping.

I used 3 inch aluminum pipe that I got from a local metal shop. I got it for about $2.50 a foot.

yeah i have a civic intake but it puts it right over the headers and when im not driving and the car is running it starts to overheat (instead of the needle being in the middle of the gauge its about 3 quarters).
