Hi- Just wondering if anyone would know what would be involved in switching a 2000 2.4 engine into an 98 Sunfire Gt that originally had the 2.4 as well?
ive got the 01 2.4 in my 97
use the injectors from the 98 motor , and you will have to drill and tap the knock sensor hole larger for the 98 knock sensor
i used all the 01 sensors and havent had any problems
and you have to swap the egr stuff from the 98 motor to the 00 motor
forgot the intake manifold for the egr as well
Great - so as long as I get the intake manifold and tap the knock sensor hole for the 98 I shouldn't have any problems - what about the exhaust - still stays stock?

that pretty much covers it. i have an 01 grand am motor in my 99, but mine was a late build, so most of mt stuff is actually 00 (egr change happened late 99 model year) so mine was fairly simple from what i understand (i had it done).
