Called Joe Bowman's today (local chevy dealer) and they wanted $54.00 a piece for lifters!I called to get a new intake camshaft from a 95 Z24 and it's $394.00!! i didn't bother asking for the 90-94 exhaust cam...But on GMPartsDirect, the cams are only $197.00 a piece...don't understand that.
I can handle everything else but JEEZ... I priced out lifters from a local parts store at $16.99/lifter...I'll probably get a complete engine gasket kit for $165.00.
Just thought i'd vent a little.

Oh yeah 2.4 lifters are like gold. I was able to get a set for $250 last year, but I doubt that will happen again. All the more reason to convert to the 35mm lifters from the 2.3. Just for comparison, look at mantapart's website...2.4L 33mm lifters are like $489, while the 2.3L 35mm lifters are $250.
Go figure.

GM parts direct price is what the dealers pay for the parts
then they add 20% for shipping and mark up
autozone i think had a decent price on the 2.4 lifters
autozone has nothing on their website. Advance Auto has them for 16.99 each, so for 16 that is a little over $271 plus tax.

They also have the 2.3L lifters for $12.09 a piece or a grand total of $193.44 plus tax.

Yeah i just recent got mine last week from nappa autoparts for 275 total. it was supposed to be 300 but i said my friend had an account at another nappa store and if i could get the discount. The salesman said no but instead of losing the sale they were cool and hooked me up
i'll probably go with advances "Clevite" lifters...can't handle the price for GM lifters...i'll probably go with GM for everything else (tensioner/shoe,guides,chain, etc.) just can't swallow the lifter price.

I've used the clevite's before...They work just fine.
