Hey guys I finally found a belt to go with my underdrive pulleys. Gates makes one that it 86 1/4 inches long, I'm pretty certain it will work. Now I have a 400 watt amp and aftermarket head unit, my mechanical told me I should be fine despite the underdrive pulleys, shouldn't blow anything up. Just need a second opinion...what do you guys think and opinion or experience is welcome. Thanks (btw : its a '99 2200"
you should be fine
most underdrive pullys dont slow down anything enough to affect perf
Thanks man, I was just wondering cause I didn't want to beat up on the battery or alternator...I understand a slight light dimming is normal...but I'm gonna ground the engine to buffet that effect...any other inputs guys?
yea the upgraded alternator is the only way to try to compensate for less rpm through the alternator, generally if your running an aftermarket stereo getting an underdrive is a really bad idea, its hard enough for the stock setup to supply the power much less one even weaker

You could always go with a power capacitor for your system instead of getting a different alternator. It stopped my lights from dimming, costs a lot less, and is not very hard to install. Just a suggestion.
a capacitor will not be enough to compensate for a lower amp alternator
