I have a 93 cav. If I cut the cat off will my check engin light come on or somthing elese go wrong

you won't pass emissions if your state has it....

no you wont get a code for that because on an ob1 car (95 and older) there is no secondary o2 sensor after the cat so the computer really has no idea that its removed, if this is a car you drive around on the street id advise against it, a car made with a cat from if removed you face a steep fine and in some states its illegal for any shop to work on your car if it has no cat, to be honest unless its a track only car its not worth the trouble
