but i was contemplating if the lsd for the lsj would work w/ the l61 or other eco engines

The LSD for the 00-02 Getrag F23 (M86/MG3) trans will also work in the 02-05 trans
I believe the LSD being made availible for the Cobalt SS and Ion Redline is in the Saab trans...... but not positive at the moment (not sure on the trans code)

cobalt has equal length axles, and yet still has an lsd option, that's good stuff.
