Sweet, nice find. I was on corral.net literally like 5 min ago and i have heard/read lots of bad things about thir products. But Who knows. Anyone on here use any of thier heads before?
i've heard nothing but good things from the ls1 scene as far as patriot heads.
what year 2.2's does this head fit?
i have a set of ls6 patriots with the stage 3 setup from patriot on my 6 liter and they are great (knock on wood)
if you go under valve train, its says "coming soon" for the 2.2OHV valves and components. I cant wait to see some review/dyno pulls with this head
Huh i guess they just angry that they couldn t afford an LS1. Well i wish i could afford a z28 and the insurance. but oh well 18yr old chode with high insurance. oh well.
cool im looking forward to the head release.
By the look of the combustion chamber that would be a'97 and older head. The '98+ heads had the heart shaped chamber.
thats awesome. seeing as i could use a new head.
am i the only one that sees this as a bad deal?? they still use the oem valvetrain
. heres what i would do.
1mm over valves $100
valve springs $175
Roller Rockers/Pushrods $300
getting head ported/polished and assembled by a local machine shop about $300
Thats about $875 with all the extras compared to $550 with only the machine work done. if u buy the head u will still want all the goodies too most likely. its good however to see some j-body love but i would rather get it done locally. just my 2 cents.

or........ to quote my other thread...
Quote:
why not redesign the head and move the valves to line up with the center of the combustion chamber?
I mean, it's alot of work(propably a weeks worth of designing and at least another week on a bridgeport(provided you don't "F" up machining the stock...
If someone wants to donate a 2.2 ohv head, i could propably do something up in cad during my free time and redistribute the .dwg or .dxf, or whatever format you wanted...
and give you back the head once i was done....
I've got a set of digital verniers, and i could propably get a micrometer(from the old man)...i could also borrow a set of vicejaws....
what's a 2.2 head cost out of a junkyard?
i mean, the head's clearly starving the hell out of that motor.... also, 1mm larger valves equates to .03937(40/1000) inches in diameter...which equates to about .019(19/1000) inches on each side....the difference in flow between the 2 diameters is going to be negligable at best..
note, the human hair is roughly 5 thousandths thick.. .005
with all this being known, we could propably devise a head that would use SB chevy parts(valves, springs, guides, seats, clips, etc, etc...)
i bought a 91' TBI head about a few months ago--$50 from a junkyard.
im kinda new to performance, but ive been doing alot of research and im thinking about doign some headwork to my 2.2, trying to hit 15's and id be happy
could i run into alot of complications with using something like this when the bottom of the engine is all stock with almost 80,000 miles on it???
^ you wont run into any problems with the bottom end. Idaho Cylinder Head Exchange has full race heads for the 2.2 as well as alabama cylinder head exchange. call and ask for steve at 1-888-293-4323. the most knowledgeable people when it comes to heads/engines in the whole country.
alabama are the biggest dick heads on the earth. i got a head for a 2.5 ( the duke) from them, and the morons installed a freeze plug in the goose neck hole, and not in the hole it was supposed to be in. then when i called them, to get confirmation, that if i fixed it, they would still honor there warenty, they said i would have to send it back to them, and they would then send it back to me corrected, all the while, i would have to pay the shipping both ways, i am still @!#$ pissed at them, they were so retarded, made me wanta drive down there and chuckthe old head at their heads... moral of story, @!#$ alabama cylinder heads
Anyone have one of these heads for the 2.2 ohv? I'm interested in pics, and opinions.
i guess it could make more power. that stage one head flows 192 CFMs at .400 lift on the intake side. the stock quad 4, "086" head flows 280 CFMs on the intake at the same lift. makes a difference in power.
.

"What are we going to do tonight?"
"The same thing we do every night, try to make the SVC go faster!"
I have a spare head....anyone wanna make me a prototype??phil

Anyone know what the stock 2.2 flows at that lift? or any of the other lifts mentioned on the site?
