any one have the ecotec lightened crank pulley from highrev? is it a good mod to do to get some more power to the wheels?
you feel a diff in the higher RPM's. and it makes you rev faster. so i say get it
if you have an impact gun and (i believe it was) a 13/16" socket, it's cake walk.

pretty simple you peel off the wheel well liner on the right front tire side and one bolt and I belive you have to loosen the belt as well, if you know what your doing its abotu a half hour
I actually had one of the first ones RSM did, simply replacing a pulley wont give you horsepower it simply lets you rev a little quicker, the weight savings are also a bonus and lower weight is almost always a good thing when it comes to performance. You wont really notice a difference till about 4000 and above to redline. When used with other lightweight aftermarket parts such as aluminuim flywheel this becomes even more effective, for the price its a nice add on
Actually in lower gears, it frees up some power, cos the acceleration of the engine is proportionally larger there. In higher gears this effect is reduced.
Simplified:
A 2500 lb car has a gear ratio of approx 1:20 in 1st. This means that the crank feels 2500/20 = 125 lb. The crank and peripherals have a weight of 100 lb that has to be accelerated. This means that the work load on the crank between acceleration of the car and of the crank peripherals is roughly the same in 1st.
The gear ratio in 2nd is maybe 1:10. This means that the effect in 2nd is half, but still can be felt and measured.
Even less effect in 3rd, and so on and so forth.
(actually it is about torques and inertias, but to give you the rough idea)
i just put a lightened one on and i love it, just takes off in the upper rpms, i'd have to agree from 4000 up, in first on my car i can take off normal not flooring it until about 2000rpms then floor it and it will move and acutally the tires will start to spin about 5k rpms so yeah its well worth it i'm goin to the track soon to see what it does to times
