The 3rd gear rolling pull was at WOT. 1st and 2nd gear I am still just giving it 3/4 throtle intill we get that rear mount in there. I don't want to chance something that would set us back at this point.

Good question Isaak...probably just a defect. I have a new set of shifter cables on the way and they should be here tomorrow. I will try and get some video of a g-tech run tomorrow after I swap them out.

Nice setup finally got to read the whole thing.
I was wondering if you could email me some pics or show the pics of the mounts that you made to make it all fit i would like to see the rear engine mounts i kind of got an understanding of the whole sub frame but a few more pics and i think i got it. and why couldn't the 3800 subframe be welding onto the cav?
my friend gots a wrecked gtp with a good motor and he is wanting to trade me a few things so i plan on doing this pretty soon.

Thanks so much.
Darkroom1428: Here are the pics of the front and rear tranny mount, the dog bones and the front lower engine mount. We haven't finnished the rear lower engine mount yet but as soon as It's in I will post up the pics.

The front tranny mount. This is the only stock mount that was used and it made lining everything up easy.

Here is the rear tranny mount. At first we didn't have this but the amount of torque the engine produces is it required.

http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/10/web/526000-526999/526752_85_full.jpg[/img

Here is the front lower engine mount. This is the second one that was designed as the first one didn't work with our oil filter relocation kit. The trhree holes drilled in the front of it are to accept the air conditioning delete pully.

Here are some pics of the dog bones. With everything properly support from the bottom you really shouldn't need them. The next swap that Double Z is doing probably won't have them. But they do look good. Also if you do plan on using them don't go with aluminum bushings. They send quite a lot of vibration through the car. I am having new bushing made up for normal everyday driving and then swapping in the aluminum ones at the track.

Once again as soon as the new rear engine mount is in I will post up soe pics for everyone.

gtpsunfire: I was going to tow it to the bash but I just don't have the resources. I have a trailor but no truck to pull it with. Also I would like to put my money into getting all the bugs worked out of the car first so that I can enjoy it. The first sport compact shootout at the track for this area is in 3 weeks and I don't want to miss it. I really wanted to go but it's just not going to happen. I am going to try and make it to the JBO bash if everything comes together.
Sorry I haven't had the vids up yet, I just haven't had time to sit down and get them on PC yet today. I am going home in about 1/2 an hour and then I will get them up.

Here is a pic of the shifter cable that broke. As you can see the plastic clip that hold everything together on the tranny side of the cable broke and the cable was bunching up.

I just got home so I'm going to get something to eat and then I will upload the new vids. In the meantime here are some progress pics of the next 3800 swap. The old 2.4 is out and the 3800 is out of the olds 88. Nathan got the 3800 harness prepped today as well. The only thing left to do to the harness is extend some wires and mate it to the 2.4 bulkhead. Here are some pics...

The subframe is being started tomorrow so I'll post up some pics of that as well.
OK here are some better vids of the car. Unfortunatly I was using some software that I am unfamiliar with and I had to zip the files, there are 3 videos in the zip file. The first one shows a 3rd gear pull from about 2500rpm at WOT. The second video is of the car launching. I would like to note that I was only going half throtle in 1st and 2nd gear. I will not beat on it till the rear mount is installed. As you can see I still spin all the way through 1st and 2nd even at half throtle The 3rd video is a pull in 2nd and 3rd gear. 2nd gear was about 3/4 throtle and 3rd was at WOT.

The new shift cables didn't come in today but they should be here tomorrow. When I swap them out I will video a G-tech run for everyone to see. I hope you enjoy.

Nice thanks for the pics.
Does the 3.8 exhaust manifold and cat (downpipe) fit in the cavalier? when i did my 3400 swap the 3400 cat was snugg and when i gas it. it rattles against the heat sheild.
Are you using the DHP Pcm to control the fuel injectors or are you using an fmu? Also did they fix your tranny codes?

thanks
