well apparently i am not very liked in my parts because someone took my drain plug and long story short i spun a bearing. i was wondering if anyone from the east texas area had a 2.2 with reasonable miles on it for sale. really all i need is a crank kit, but my motor has 217,000 on it so i might just start with something that hasnt been so far.

ever thought about checking on an ecotec swap? you can get them relatively cheap and its alot better motor then the old 2200's. not sure all thats involved but i was think engine and computer is basically it. not sure if the tranny's are the same in the two.

Actually its pretty involved, he'd have to swap everything, from the engine, tranny, ecu, wiring, depending on what year he has he may have to swap out the interior harness, cluster, add a bcm, redo the trans mounts, axles...

i would love to do the eco swap but as of now i am without a car. i found a 2000 model for $300 for the whole car, but i dont even know if it runs or how many miles it has on it considering the cables are missing, the fuel tank is in the back seat and there arent any spark plug wires on it. i can get a crank kit from my old job for 140 remaned so i might just do that for now. as for the eco swap, the 5 speeds wont interchange?

No, the transmissions don't interchange, they are all different.
