Would appriciate any help and would feed and drink someone plus throw a little money if they could come and at least help m e figure out what the hell is wrong with it!?!?!?!
Info on car:
1998 Sedan 2200 Automatic
well what aint it doing is the question that everyone would like to know lol ?
ok let me link the post i put in the Tranny Section. Sorry Ramon!
Ok I had the car at a shop for a little while and there was problems with them so I pulled it and now I have it here at my shop and i am having problems. Here is what i have come across:
Tranny Fuild leaks out like a mofo.
Front Driver tire is angled with the top inward.
Car wont go into gear at all.
Would like some insite one what the hell the problem might be so I can look at it before I take it to a shop. Thanks in advance!
well it seemed to be the axle causing the problem hmm check the axle out to see if the boot is ripped if so it may have slipped out completly thus causing your wheel to point up. Also check your strut if you did any work there you may have not installed it back right
could have a blown seal or a bad axel and like ramon said the strut or your wheel bearing would cause your wheel to tilt inward
SO:
check your axel to see if it is not seated well with the tranny
check the axel to see if it may be broke
check your wheel bearing by jacking the car up on the side that the wheel is bad and then see if the wheel will turn without moving the rack or if you can move the top of the wheel in and out.
Ok it looks like it is seated correctly. I can turn the hub and it turns real easy and the passenger side hub turns as well.
Second how can i tell if the axle is broke?
Thrid one....I am not sure what u mean by turn the wheel. Because the wheel will turn and I can move the top of the wheel up and down fairly easy.
When it was sitting on the ground the tire itself rested onto the bottom of the strut mount. If it wasnt there then i am not sure what the hell would have stopped it.
If wheel bearing i sure the hell hope that isnt hard to replace! May have to pay one of u nice fellows to do it! Having cancer wears my ass out fast when I work too hard!
Man i wanna thank you guys for ur help. I know a few things but trannys, axles, and motor swaps own my dumb ass!
I pm my number to you. call me
Thanks man! I will get ahold of u asap. Hope u can help me!
dude if I'm right that motor had the same tranny my 2.2 sohc did and its number is the 4T40E and ben and ramon are right check those items and as far as it not going into gear if its on the driver side thats you main drive line so that could be a problem or you might just be better off looking into a new tranny..... in the long run its easier and cheaper than repairing a old tranny....
I just put this one in like 3 months ago so might be better to try t o fix? Lord I wish i knew something about this car part to any point!
WELL i WILL BE IN DALLAS IN LIKE TWO WEEKS. LOL AT NOPI.
Where are u from? Sweet any help is appriciated!
San Antonio. I told ya if you call me I can walk you through a few diagnostic steps
Ok cool Imma try to call u from the shop tomorrow so I can be looking at it and be able to describe everything i see so we might be able to figure it all out. Thanks again!
First of all ... were is it leaking from ? second IM 100% it wont go into gear because of lack of tranny oil.. put all 9 quarts plus fill the torque converter up .. iif the tranny is in there correctly the axle wont hit anything unless its split in two. look again take some pics of it ..
Cool deal. I will take a ton of pics tomorrow to post up. Cant tell at this pont where the fluid came from. I believe it is all out of the car completely. Since it was an automatic it used to jump into gear when i shifted out of park. Right now it does absolutely nothing at all. I will add some fluid tomorrow and try to see where it is leaking from and take a crap load of pics of it!
