I had to take a test today at Shams Group Inc for a Network Admin position. The test was 80 questions and i had to write 3 c++ programs, had to know sql database scripts, tunneling, microsoft 2003 server, exchange server 2003, active directory, vpn, questions on routing protocols, procedures.
I go back again on friday to get Troubleshooted by a Cisco Expert. Hes prolly goign to give me some hard questions but i should beable to answer them.
This job only pays 55k a year too.
remember i have a 4 year degree, 3 years experience, CCNA certification and studying for CCNP
i took a piss test once, that count?

Not raggin, but you have a 4 year degree and you only have a CCNA?? If I woulda kept going I would have had my CCNA out of high school and then go to a 2 year program for CCNP among other stuff.
I know 4 year colleges are good and such but you should at least have a CCNP by now I would think.
And why wouldn't they have you take a test. They want somebody that knows their stuff.

Well I started a masters degree too last year too. I would like to see you get your ccnp, do it. Its alot harder than you think and so is the ccna exam. Go try and take the ccna exam and let me know if you pass the first time since its 59 questions and you cant miss more than 5. Really by me having a 4 year degree and 3 years as a Networking Admin is what counts. Its the life experience plus the degree which you have either so i wish you luck in life.
I love how poeple say degrees and such are always so easy but the ones that say that are the ones that never have them. LOL.

I never said the CCNP wasn't hard to get. I just said that after going to college for 4 years I dont see why you don't have one.
Here in town we have a program - 2 years and you get thru CCNA and CCNP. At my high school you can take 2 years and do the CCNA. I did the first year and decided I wanted to go into something auto related.

CCNA/CCNP isn't a degree, it's a certification. LOL.
