now here is the big ? for all of you.......
should i stick with the 2.2 that is in my car and just get a turbo kit for it and have my 2.2 redone.
or
should i have my 2.3 dohc quad 4 redone and drop it down in there?
that is the only thing i can think about. i have changed my mind so many imes i just need to make it up and do it i just dont want to wait til the last min. the reason i am asking is that i have both motors sitting here and dont know what the hell im doing...
i know the options i have for the 2.2 but i am having a hard time finding mods and hop up for the 2.3.
so come on guys give me some advice. here.
go with the better motor you can always make more hp with a bigger motor
even if it is .1 litre
eh keep the 2.2 and mod the shat out of it, i mean why get rid of a prefectly good engine to put something with probably a @!#$ load of miles unless your doing a total rebuild, not to mention you will need to mod your current engine bay as it probably wont line up. If your going to do a engine swap do a 3.1 V6 then turbo the @!#$ out of it.
ok i have decided to keep my 2.2 and just to a total rebuild on it. i already did the head 2 months ago cause it blew a head gasket thanks to the water pump. so i am going to do the lower half this time around. thanks for the opinions guys.
now the bigger ? is turbo or nit? that is the ? on mind right now. im tyhinking turbo but i have heard alot about nit too. what do you guys think or have?this is my toy so it will only be played with when the times is right and at the track when im done with it. so please keep that in mind.
nitrous is always the cheaper route to big horsepower turbos good but an cost a pretty penny. since your going to go with the rebuilt i would go nitrous if you build it right you should be able to go with a pretty big shot but the same goes with the turbo if you build the motor right you should be able to hit a big psi amount. honestly i would ask these questions on the performace forum. we know a good deal about cars but you will have a bigger amount of knowledge from people in the performance forum.
2.3 is a better application for the turbo.
