well i went to the clinic today(sat) to learn how to properly clean a car. CLAY BAR IS YOUR FRIEND!! WOW the stuff i learned. they gave us tickets to the autorama and a free thing of detail interior wipes, the reg size container not a sample. we need to get a dual orbitor is all i can say. one of the guys from the coroprote HQ came to teach the class. the place we had the clinic is wash solutions in dallas, just the other side of the highway from speedzone. they carry every meguiar item none to man: pro series, detailer series, and the consumer series. they mainly deal with body shops and washing businesses but the consumer can come there to get stuff too.
2 REASONS FOR THE POST:
1. - the reason im giving this info is they do clinic's for car clubs!!! one of the distric reps for meguiars will try to make it (not the mike from cali). to teach but also the guys from wash solutions teach it. part classroom and part hands on with someones car. i talked to tony, the owner of wash solutions, and we need to set up a time to do it if any are interested. the best time for them is on saturdays. afterwards you can buy anything you need.
2. - i was talking to JD playing with the idea of a detail day at my house when it warms up in march. a day we can get some together and detail ones car. like to have 2 on the inside, 2 on the outside, and 1 or 2 taking rims off to detail them. something along that line, one car at a time or we could do 2 at a time with less ones on each car. just a thought.
Clay bar is the bomb shizzle.
I am all that is man
Better make sure you hand wash the car before using a clay bar.
so does this mean no ones interested in a free detail clinic? i figured at least a handful.
Well i would see how i need to learn to wash my car More often

MEQUIARS CLINIC-
any more interested in going to the clinic? its FREE. its only a few hours. since we are starting to go to big shows and TRUE judged events, like the may show, they will be looking at the details. the show is in 2 months so id like to plan the clinic this month if not the 1st of next month. its really informative and opens your eyes to the whole cleaning aspect. every wondered how to get the damn swilrs out and bird etchings?
DETAIL DAY-
are any interested in this idea? have a mod day moreless but detailing / cleaning cars. getting the car washed, paint cleaned, polish, and waxed. inside detailed and taking each rim off and cleaning the heck out of it. with a good cleaning/polish/wax it would just need to be spray detailed from that point on and a good washing, basic maitance, esp getting ready for the big show in may. we can have a cook-out for lunch. the more the faster it will go, esp if we do it after a free clinic on cleaning the car.
The more the marrier is true. It take me 2 hour's for a quik wash and clean up, 6 hour's to totally clean the car from top to bottom. Of course it all depend's on who's car we're going to detail,**cough-Kelly**
that in of itself is a task at hand. But 5-6 of us tackle the car we should be done in a few hour's. I'd be interested in a detail day. Pick a date so that we can plan for it.
i know i'm not a member yet but would love to come so if its ok let me know and i will make plans to be there....
slownlow is the way to go...
Yeah well what can i say ..... SRRY No.. but yeah if yeah could help me out that would be great cough cough....

Man I am totally in for both of these. If I have one redeeming value it is detailing a car, without an orbital... and I'd like to pick up a few new tips. I go through clay bars and the difference they make is PHENOMENAL. Sliding your finger down your car after you've clayed and polished her almost feels like she was your girl... okay, not THAT close but still, feels 200% different than it did.
I think with more people we could honestly detail more than one car, though... unless someone takes their Cavalier mud-doggin' and then we have issues :-)

Midgets wash it for me.
...but I guess I can go, just if you need me to make a crowd.
thats the whole point is having 4/5 people do a car at a time.
1-2 inside detail
1-2 outside detail
1-2 work on taking rimes off and cleaning
then the next car
id like to plan it after the detail clinic so we all can learn the right way and the tricks to detailing the car.
how about sat march 18th for the clinic day. we'd need about 10 to make it worth their while! then we could come to my house and detail or plan another sat to detail.
saturday march 18th seems to be a go. it will prolly be in the morning 8-9amish. ill get with tony that has the business and see if that dates good and let yall know.
