But in a good way! Yep, I just sold my cavy about an hour ago!!
Lets just say this Sunfire is gonna get a facelift!! Streetfire kit, maybe seats and steering wheel. Also fixing to order new gauges (my ebay ones crapped out on me). Debating on Lambos but i just dont know if they will interfere with the sideskirts and door skins etc.
Just letting everyone know, cavy is sold and the sunfire is ALIVE!!
BTW, sold it for 2800 w/o all the goodies i got with it. About to start working on one of my spare heads i have (p&p, new ss valves, roller rockers, stock springs and pushrods. Once its together im buying my Pistons, rods , bearings and some other odds and ends . Anyone have a spare 95-97 2.2 block laying around??
TURBO COMING SOON!
Man sounds like youre about to have some serious fun with the sunfire. lol
Good luck with everything.

Yea, but you have to watch out for the cranks. The timing notch on the 95-97 2.2 cranks are in a different location than the timing notch on the 98-02 2.2s. The 95-97 2.2s also have lower compression than the 98-02 2.2s. The cams on the 95-97 and 98-02 suppose to be a little bit different also.
It is kind of scary, the 95-02 blocks all have the same casting number, I think. So just think if you have a 97 2.2, but you found what you think is a 97 2.2, but its really a 2000 2.2. I wonder how much of a problem the timing notch on the cranks would cause if you used the wrong one.

bare block? Used or redone (cleaned up cyl walls etc.)
Used short block....it will have the stock crank, pistons, rods, cam, etc. It will need to be rebuilt.

Hmmm, i might be interested in that. Just out of curiousity, why would it need to be rebuilt? I mean, i know it would need to be freshened up etc (like if i was to run it like that lol) but i just want to know the damage. Spun bearing? Broke rod or piston etc.
Just curious
The timing chain is probably broken, no big deal.
