Moved to Natchitoches, LA. and can't find resources to explain how to ID the A/T I bought. I also need to know if I can change the back Cover to make it fit into a '96 Sunfire. It's suppose to be a 4T65E.

Also, need to know if I can use the CV-axles from a Sunfire/Cav that had the 4-speed A/T on this.

i thought our a/t were 4t40e

yea man our transmissions are 4t40e hopefully that is what you have if not i dont think it is gunna bolt up to your engine.

But of course there may be a tranny that i dont know about or something like that. if im wrong im sure someone will correct me

The tranny came out of a '99 Pontiac GTP behind a 3800 SC. It should be a 4T65E that I'm hoping I can get the CV axles to fit and put a backplate on it from a Sunfire so it will bolt like stock.

(Yes, the 3800 SC is going in the Sunfire.)

Here's more info on the Tranny I have.

The Torque Conv ID is "TJFM".
