it will work all you gotta do is run the 99 exhaust manifold and gasket then just deleate the EGR.also need to use the 99 intake manifold as it has the EGR hole plugged.
-run the 99 fuel system
-run the 99 knock sensor (you'll need an adapter plug as the 99 bolt is smaller than the 96 bore, the specific part number is here use the search)
the 96 motors utiliize an oil level sensor in the oil pan, you're 99 does not. dis-regard, you will not need it.
cake for a swap
550 is way too much, you can get a block from a yard for like 60. I had a disassembled engine in my garage until about a month ago... woulda let you just took it.
