....recently replaced my oil level sensor, my oil pressure sending switch (I think that's what it is called?), and changed my oil and filter, drove my car around, then reset my ecu with a battery kill for an hour, and lo and behold! My check oil light came back on...again. All the wiring and cnnections look good..anyone think it could be the oil pump itself? My car DOES have 160+k on it...
...don't hate!.. respect people that have talent, even if it is in something you don't like or understand.
Check the connection with an OHM meter to see if it's working. you can have a broken wire somewhere.

If your oil pump died, you wouldnt be driving, you would have Siezed the engine by now.
I am having the same problems with my 1996 Sunfire Gt as well. I recently tried to fix the problem with replacement of the oil pressure switch located near the cam covers on top of the engine. My next best guess is to try the oil level sensor located on the oil pan? Has anyone tried this and did it work? My fear is that my oil pump is on its way out.
Please advise
