ok im really stumped on this idle problem

symptoms
-revs to 4,000rpm when first started, once warmed up then runs from 1500-2000pms and revs back and forth constsantly between the two, and then back up to 4,000rpm once and awhile

scanned the car with my obd ll scanner and came up with it throwing 1 code "po507"
"IAC system rpm higher then expected"

i went today and got a used iac sensor off a member, put it in and the same thing, no change........is there a way to test these sensors at all?......also to reset the comp in these cars you just disconnect the batt correct?

thanks this is really annoying me and im at the point where i just wanna sell it, have had it for a big over a month and already had to do a transmission, brakes, clutch and now iv got this problem

Reset the computer..take off the negative battery cable..i take both off...leave it disconnected
I wait about 20 minutes...but i think 2 minutes will do.

Go drive it past 35 mph....after you drive it past that , it should be back to normal (if it was your IAC valve)

Mine was idling past 4000 rpm ...i changed the IAC and TPS.. anyway...I did not drive it over 35 mph...it will be in the haynes manual also. After i drove it over 35 mph..it went down to 1500 rpm's....i guess i have another problem

tried but to no avail, its weird like the car doesnt wanna drop the rpms to udner 1500rpm, and if i take my foot off the gas it trys to slowly accelerate on its own or stays steady instead of slow down and drop rpm......i also noticed when i got out that my xhaust piping was smoking, by where the cat is?.......could my cat be clogged?......i cant see that being the problem for the idle problem?

have you tried changing your TPS sensor..thats what mine was when my rpms did that...OR you can test your tps with a volt meter...it should go from like .1v -4.5v (or something like that) when you open and close the throttle...if its reading something like 3.5v at idle thats your problem..they sometimes get stuck and start dumping fuel even though your not giving it any

Try cleaning the thorttle body. Go get yourself a TB gasket and take the TB off. Take all IAC and TPs and whatever else is attached off. Using parts cleaner, soak it down and clean. Make sure you get down by the blade. When reinstalling, make sure you clean everything that goes back on it.

ok another thing is, my car wont properly warm up right now b/c my thermostat is stuck open, could this also be a problem?.........it gets warm but wont go over or even near the 90 mark, does the comp need it to be at normal temp to reset itself and adjust?

Can there still be a leak in the throttle body...even if he cleans it good?
If that makes any since to you all.

I had this problem before, the dealership did one of those BS injector cleaner kits to no avail. They eventually replaced the PCM and that fixed it. Good luck man.
