After my head and cam swap and a multitude of problems (with improper timing and such), my timing chain tensioner went bad and one of the bolts of the chain guide broke off in my block...I got it all fixed and everything seemed fine but after only a week and a half later it is making that dreaded loose chain noise again only when I first start up (few seconds) and when I turn while moving (like on an exit ramp)
I'm assuming maybe the tensioner is faulty or was installed improperly (was done by a shop not a dealer)...
Has anyone with an ecotec had any of these problems?
Anybody have instructions/manual on how to install the tensioner or ways to check it or adjust it?
Can anyone offer me any help/feedback?...it will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The hydraulic tensioner.......
You need to compress the tensioner all the way, by pushing the piston into the tensioner body, and turning it clockwise while doing so.... Then put the tensioner into the block. Make sure that the groove in the tensioner piston is pointing up and down when it hits the plastic "adjustable chain guide".
The tensioner should tighten up soon after startup when the oil pressure builds enough to take up the slack. Pull the valve cover off, look at the chain, and take a trouble light to look at the tensioner at the back of the block. You should see that the tensioner is pushing against the chain guide, if there looks like a bunch of play, then the tensioner isn't working right.... You didn't lose any of the pieces of the tensioner at all did you?

The part about it only happening while turning should tell you right away that it isnt the timing chain your hearing there. The tensioner doesn't change the tension while your turning so that is something else. I suggest you do a little diagnostic work and find the root of your problems.
