daytime running lights

my car came with daytime running lights that are on when the light switch is off.
I went to auto zone to see if there was a diff. element for this and they said that it is tied into the dims but all high beams and low beams work. should I just replace the low beams and see what that does.

Daytime running lights is just that.. they run all time.. they are on anytime ur car is in gear to drive.. I disabled them on my 96 and it was easy.. just a snip of a wire.. search for DRLs you'll find alot..

The light in the dash is blinking because there isn't enough current going to the DRL circut which happens when they aren't on but should be. Probably one is out but I would think the other one would still be on even if one burned out.... Check both I guess

The DRLs go thru the high beam headlight. If that bulbs are good when you hit the brights, the bulbs are good and you have other problems. Check the relay.

^^ what he said, but if one is out the circuit goes and then the other doesnt work either, i'd say try replacing the bulb(s) then get back to us

Why replace the bulbs if the hi beams work. If the high beams work and the low beams work, there is nothing wrong with the bulbs. Just go to the dealer and get a DRL relay and put it in. That should fix your problem.

Don't have to goto the dealer. You can get the relay at the auto parts stores.

My DRLs were out for a few months, (99 Sunfire) turns out it was my cluster, I believe the DRL module is located in the cluster
