Your not supposed to spray ANYTHING on a serpintine belt cause it can make them pop off. Either you need a new belt or one of you pulleys or assories is going bad.

Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

Mine did the same thing last week. First I thought it was the alternator bearings, so I swticthed that with a new one.... no luck. So then I changed the tensioner pully which solved the problem for the most part, barley any squeaks - only when it's a cold start.

To get to the pully I had to pull out the alternator (2 bolts) and then the pully (2) bolts... the pully is only like 20-30 bucks. Once yuo get the alternator off it is easy to work with. By the way, I tried the spray - not a good idea, it doesn't work and it will make your belt slip!

Good Luck!

My car did the same thing to. On my car its the A/C clutch thats gone out. Let your car run and look at the pulleys, if its the A/C clutch you'll see it spin freely like it should then stop, creating the squealing sound as the belt runs across it. It tore the hell outta a belt of mine so now I have to leave the A/C run all the time until I get it fixed. I took it to GM and its gonna be expensive to fix, so make sure you know for sure what your is.
