The speedo is stuck past the middle of the odometer reading... scared me at first, i just looked down and was like wtf?? Anyone got any ideas??? By the way i did search and i did find a thread:http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=11&i=95138&t=95033#95138 but it yeilded no answers. So anyone with some idea's please help me out.
I reset the computer my disconnecting the battery, i did it enough times to get it back to zero. But i am still curious as to why this is happening! I managed to get a pic of the speedo before i reset it... you dont see this too often, too bad the car cant really go this fast!!!
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
The way I was told the speedometer gauge works is the same way the fuel gauge works. A balancing coil gauge, and it operates on the principal of magnetic retaraction and repulsion.
I would remove the cluster and inspect the back side of it. It isnt to hard to remove it. By the way only 15,000 miles, what year is your car, warranty still?

Mine was doing the same thing. Swapped out to a Sunfire cluster & haven't had any problems since... I was told that just means the cluster is gone bad. Mine got so bad the gas, temp, & RPM's were screwed up too...
2005 eco spd. yes i have a warranty but im not shure what will happen cuz of my intake... i live in cali and it doesnt have an e/o number.
5 spd for the lack of an edit button.
