Hey all,
Recently I've been having a problem with my 2000 cavy, 2200. When the engine is warmed up, my Low Radiator Fluid light will come on sporadically when I accelerate from a stop. It doesnt do this any other time except for when I'm taking off from a stop sign or something.
I've taken a peek inside the coolant tank and everything appears to be at normal levels. Is there something I may be missing?
Thanks.
thi is common, the coolant sloshing around in the coolant recovery tank can sumtimes move away from the fluidlevel sensor, kickin on the low coolant light
This happens to me also. I have a 98 Z. It happens when I make sharp turns. If your fluid level is where it should be, then there is nothing to worry about.
98 Z24

RIP Specks
if it full then nothin to worry about......GM has a TSB on this problem.......the sell a revised coolant jug....the baffles inside the jug are redesigned to stop this problem......hope this helps
I went a different route. I unplugged the harness from the sensor, and now I just check the coolant level as I'm also checking my other fluids when I fill my gas tank. Kinda like you should do anyway.
if ur fluid light is where its suppose to be it wouldtn turn on when u turn.. if its always on get a broomstick or something and hit the res. at the end farthest from cap alot of times the sensor gets stuck
your are low on coolant.
don't just look at it,
Fill it up all the way to the top until it can't hold no more.
Close the cap, and go for a test drive
alot of times those sensors stay on i took mine to the delaership i kept opening it and it was full.. i took it to dealership he popped my hood and tapped the res. with a wrench told me to start the car and it went off.lol
those sensors at the bottom of the tank are known to get dirty, clean it off and you'll be fine
or check your water pump for leaks
if your water pump was leaking you would know, you would see coolant all over the ground

Not true. mine was leaking a little out of the weep hole and i never saw any fluid under the car on the ground EVER. It was puddling up on my car and then the coolant light would come on when i would go up a hill or something. i found out that my pump was bad and havnt had any problems since.
