Yeah they have GMs Tech II, and Snap On. The Tech II cost a few grand, and the Snap On is $4000. For the Snap On you need to buy cartridges for special vehicles and years though. Like one may only cover 03-05 Cavailers and it might cost $350 for it.

The Tech II, man you can do anything with it. Any sensor, you can turn on anything, you can activite any actiator you want. The Tech II is a great scan tool.

On the topic of scanners for the laptops I found one here on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Windows-PC-ProScan-OBD-II-OBD2-2-Scan-Tool-Dyno-Scanner_W0QQitemZ4598652062QQcategoryZ43989QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Is this one any good?

id say tech II, b/c u can also monitor power balance, and you can do a power contribution tests. i still wish GM had a scan tool like Fordds WDS or PDS, its basically a computer with on screen menus and @!#$, all touch screen, the PDS is actually a PDA, connected to the VCM computer, used for an NGS, or NGS+

I bought this:

http://www.innovationhouse.com/products/obd2_personal_scan_tools.html

It works well and I have used it with free software I found on the Internet to reset my engine light whenever I don't close the gas cap tight enough.

If you look at the picture on ebay you can see it is the same chip.

I will be buying this software:

http://www.palmerperformance.com/pcmscan.php

It seems to have a few more features then the Proscan in the ebay. Search this site for the link above, you should find an earlier post by me with about 15 different companies that hook up to your laptop.
