Light fuse keeps blowing

Has anyone ever have their ext light fuse keep poping? My head lights, signal and brake lights all work but the running lights don't. I know there is a short somewhere but it can be anywhere. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before i tear into my whole harness.

No i havent done anything. The only thing i did was put in a plate light when i changes the truck filler peice but there is nothing wrong with that wiring. It started when i went down a gravel road with a bit of mud on it. I took it easy but when i got out my lights dident work. Then the next day i put a new fuse it and it worked fine for like 2 weeks. After that the fuse blew and they kept blowing as i put them in. Then like 2 days later i put one in and it was fine for another week. But now it's been over a week i got no lights. I took off my rear bumper and checked all the wiring in there and it was all fine. I think it MAY be the alarm system thats in the car. It was in there when i bought it but i don't have the remote for it.

Try getting a voltage reading from the DRL socket.

Ok well i ruled out the switch and the pig tails for the lights. The fuse for my alarm keeps blowing as well but it still pops the light fuses without any fuses in the alarm and with it unplugged. I also replace the light relay. A buddy a mine who was a mecanic for 20 years told me to try putting a cotter pin in the fuse socket and look for smoke, he also told me to have a couple freinds around with water or fire extinguishers. He told me thats what they do in garages because it's cheaper to replace the harness then to take time taking it all apart to find it then put it back together. I'm almost tempted to try this.

If it is a short, you have to find it and fix it. It's that simple.

I would NOT suggest what you typed in last, you could blow your car up, or short something else that will damage the car. It just sounds too dangerous.
