Check you vacuum lines, mine went on my '97 and I had the same problem you just described.

My car stalled out once on the road--scariest thing ever! I got it over to my part store and we heard a hissing from the TB, and one line was cracked, costed maybe $1.00

Sound like the TPS is starting to malfunction.

Usually when the throttle position sensors goes bad you will most likely get a steady rev at about 1200 to 1800 RPM and if you have an auto shifting in reverse and drive sounds like you just neutral dropped it the vaccum situation sounds like a better place to start your investigation

ive already checked all my vacum lines and replaced the tps, and spark plugs, still does it . what about the iac or the fuel pressure regulator?

I have had this problem too and I have replaces MAP, O2, TPS, IAC , Fuel Reg, etc. Still doing this. I runs fine when driving but at idle it is just bad. Drinks gas like a hummer. All I can tell is it starts at close loop and the 1st O2 sensor readings are everytwhere. From 200 to 900mv. I would like to know also.
