So i had new brake pads instaleld at 28k miles and im at 40k but for the last 2-3k miles i have noticed a slightly odd trend. On my front disc brakes the "dust" from the rotor or brake pads are all over my wheels. I clean the car head to toe every week, and every friday there is so much build up of the dust that you cannot even see the original color of the wheels. is this bad, my breaking seems fine, although under hard braking the abs comes up on the car skids, gaints traction, skids, tractoin etc etc. Rear brakes though are always spotless. thanks
Did you change the rotors or have them turned when you put new pads on? if not that will chew up pads or same effect for rear brakes
stop going 100 mph then stopping hard
As soon as your rotors glaze up its over for that set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good job buttmunch,
this car never goes over 70 becuase its a DAILY DRIVE. THis car is driven normally, probaly alot more conservative more than most JBO members becuase i realise this car is a ECONOMY car.
and the rotors were cleaned up or resurfaced
first off cool ur a$$ off, second, this is usually normal, deopends on brake pad composition, my 96 fire did this off and on on the passenger side, it would be black as ful< for one week, clean it off, be clean for a week, then one day its black. some pads aren't built as well as others. some dust up allot, but still wear good, and work good. also you may find soft spots in a bake pad wich will cause this. i'd say it's nothin to really be concerned w/
thanks for the info,
but if the guy isnt going to give me actual information, and imply that i street race totally pisses me off.
After seeing all the deaths around here from street racing (we probably get about 1 every two months of just the DRIVER), it really bothers me when people associate me with those people that race on roades that are ligned with small shops that people walk around

That is actual info dumba$$
Its sad that you have to ask dumb questions
how far do you drive to clean your car?
If the brakes are hot and you wet them with water then the rotors will warp and cause premature brake wear but-munch
JR let me apologise and make peace, i just really dont like being associated with them, because they are EVERYWHERE and always want to race, that is why i retired my ws6 to a weekend car as it is impossible to drive without 4 dumbasses revving and pulling on my constantly.
my car probably gets around 100 miles a day, and I stop and let the car rest for a good couple of horus before cleaning the car.
might want to think about a up grade, cut the heat down does it rain alot were you stay.
Also do you have ABS and also what brand of pad do you use, I have used house brand on my 04 and they last me 30k so I switched to a better brand and I think I will get at least 60 or more from these.

I drive like a mile to work and home again
maybe to the store so maybe 5 miles a day
when I go cruising on weekends is when they get the most work,I try not run more then twice a weekend plus it saves on the gas and the bottle
i got 15'000 miles on my autozone peformance friction Z-rated pads and they are done i will take them back and get free new pads
see ya!
