Need some advice. I have purchased a 97 Z24 with a bad engine (thrown rod). I have also purchased a 2001 engine to go in it. I see there are a few differences between the engines but nothing major. The newer engine doesn't have an EGR valve on it but it does have the mounting holes.
Can anyone fill me in on any other "show stoppers" with this swap? Also, my Haynes manual says pull the tranny along with the engine but as I look everything over it appears that it shouldn't be a problem to pull the engine by itself.
Any info is greatly appreciated. You guys seem to know your stuff on these things.
Thanks,
Jeff
You'll need to use the 97 injectors. The 2000 won't work with the 97 Ecm.

I have a similar problem. 98 Sunfire with 2.4 -blown engine. The link did not work. What age motor will work? (97-2001?)
Thanks,
Scott
96 to mid 99 had the low impedence injectors.
the 96-98 had the Egr.
