Ok so im driving home tonight and i have my headlights on. When i get close to pulling into my driveway i turn my headlights off (so i dont shine my lights in my neighbors window) and turn on my turn signal. After my lights go off my daytime running lights come on and they are flashing really fast...faster than the turnsignal. Then they quit, the lights only flashed for about 2 seconds. When i stop i look down and a light is on in the dash it says service and has the little wrench by it. Just thought id ask to see what was up with my cars flashing daytime running lights and the light in the dash. Any information is appreciated.
My best advice is go to autozone or advance auto and have them run a diagnostic test on it, your computer has certain codes that will indicate where to start looking for the problem. without actually being able to check out the car in person, I have no way of saying what it definately is. My best gues would be to start with the headlight relay if it is a 2nd gen. both my mom and I have cavaliers, hers is a 2nd gen and mine is a 3rd gen. We had to replace the relay at about 40,000 miles on hers.
I figured out that one of my headlight bulbs had burned out that I just put in about 4 months ago. I fixed the bulb and now the car is fine. Thanks for the help johnathan probst
you probably know this but if you touch the headlight bulbs the life of the bulb is shortened.

maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day
Yea ive heard that before but I made sure that I didnt touch the bulb, but I may have on accident.
