i cant seem to find this particular harness in my chilton, haynes, or at the local auto store. the only harnesses the local auto store has is the entire harness for my 96 z24.
i dont need the WHOLE harness, just the one that is under the hood.
basically there is a large bundle of wires that come from the firewall into the engine bay, then right near the battery it plugs into a huge 200 (or somthing) pin connector. then from the big connector the bundle of wires continues and goes throughout the engine to the sensors and stuff. i was just going to unplug the big connector and replace the harness under the hood.
the big connector is like halfway through the entire wiring harness of the car.
im wondering if anyone knows what this half-harness is called? or where i can find one? or how much it is? anything?
thanks.

Girls make me mad and break my heart, but my car is always there for me.
Depending on your experience with joining electrical connections, I would recommend just replacing the entire harness. If it is bad, then there is a reason it is bad. Find out what caused the problem, then replace the entire harness, if you don't connect the wires right where you cuit them, and there's a chance even if you do it right, there is going to be higher resistance in the circuts and this will do all kinds of freaky junk to you computer. It could even affect drivability. So, JUST FIND THE REASON IT BROKE AND FIX IT, THEN REPLACE THE ENTIRE HARNESS. IT WILL SAVE YOU ALOT OF HEADACHE IN THE END!
