Car won't start - 97 Cavalier

About 2months ago I got my cavalier for $500, it died after about 2days. When I was idle at a stop light it started to rumble as if it was misfiring then it just died, I tried restarting it, it started up for about a second and died again and woudn't start after that. Well the guy I bought it from said it had a couple of bad fuel injectors so I figured that was the problem. Well I have them replaced and the car turns over but won't start. Any ideas what it could be, it was running prefectly fine before it died on me that was the strange part about it.

Alright we can assume a few things here since it starts somewhat, you have a good batery, and you have a good inition switch.

Now since it starts for a second and dies I'm guessing your missing something.

I would buy a spark tester from NAPA for $8, and use that to see if you have spark or not.

Let me know if you have spark or not. I see this problem a lot and can help you fix it.

Damn, I love engine diag! First off get some "Starting Fluid" . Spray a little inside the TB. IF the car starts for a few secs then you know the ign system is working and it's a fuel problem. If the system dones start then you need to see if you are getting any spark at all. This requires alot more dia then you may be able to due. Take the car to your nearest dealer for service.

Well actually spakr diagnoises is pretty easy. No spark at all I would check to see that the primary ignition is all plugged in with no corrosion.

You can test the coil using an OHM setting on a voltmeter, .5-2 Ohms its good, above 2 Ohms its bad.
