I lost my manual but mine said 4 qts for my 05 5spd yet my sisters 04 auto says 5 qts. Mine is always full and so is hers so why is the manual tranny different? So anyway how much do you put in it?

I don't think there is any diff between them but mine takes 5 qts and its a 5spd

I always put 5 quarts in my eco.
my owners manual says 4 quarts. it registered full on the dipstick but just barely, so i follow the reccomendation of many people here and use a full 5 quarts...maxes out the full area on the dipstick but doesnt go over.

Ok, atleast I am not the only one that had a manual say 4 qts. so it can use 4,5 or 5.5 lol.

I just changed my oil in my 05 Cav 5 speed. I let it drain for like 20 minutes and i put 5 qts of Mobil 1 full synthetic in, and now it only goes to the first bump on the dip stick... Kinda pissed considering the manual said 4, and the dealer ship i phoned said 4.5.
I think Gm's actual # is 4.8 quarts.
I always use 5 quarts.
