Have you tried lubing the throttle linkage?

I have the same thing on my 1998. I posted about it a while ago, and people suggested cleanign the throttle plate with carb cleaner. I haven't done it yet, but I think my pedal is just getting looser again from more use. I also posted this about how my park-interlock cable was rubbibg on my gas pedal. I duct taped it out of the way and the pedal isn't so stiff anymore. Hope that helps you!

Just look for the cable under the hood. Where its attached is the linkage and the throttle body. Spray it with some white lithium grease . It could even possibly be the throttle plate is sticking, You can clean it out with throttle body cleaner. I dont mean for this as a stupid question but have you checked to see if something is ubstructing the pedal itself?

i just checked the gas pedal. there is no park-interlock cable rubbing it; the gas cable itself is very easy to pull out from throttle, the reason is there is a spring helding the cable making it back when you pull and release the cable, that spring is too tight maybe, so do i need to replace this spring? i have once time tried the new buick and impala, buick is same situation as my car while impala is pretty soft than mine, did you guys ever compare your car with others?thx

calf raises are the answer, after a while work up to squats
