I purchased a 95 Cavalier Friday. My little cousin drove it home for me and ran out of gas. He filled it up at a near by gas station. Drove the car home everything was fine. This morning I drove the car for about an hour. Got home everything was good. I left to take care of somethings and my same dumb ass cousin desides he is going to change the spark plugs and wires for me. Well he takes the upper intake manifold off and changes the plug wires. I came home and just about lost it but it was to late he was connecting everything back up.
Now the problem, the car will not start now. I turns over but will not fire up. I checked his plugs and they seemed okay, but I had him go get some more changed the plugs and double checked the wires still will not start.
What can be wrong. Only other thing is that there is a black line that is by the ignition module that is hanging its a hard line not soft. I traced it back to the front of the engine bay then it goes down to the bumper area not sure if this is related.
Thanks for any help.
are the wires in the right firing order?
When changing plugs and wires on a non independent coil system (ala ecotec) You need to make sure that the plug wires go to the same cylinders they did before you removed everything.
If the firing order is wrong the engine will turn over but it won't start.
I couldn't tell you the firing order, but if you go to your local autoparts store you can pick up a chiltons for the car. I highly reccomend having one.
