hey everyone hows it going i have a question for you i have a 1997 chevrolet cavalier and it makes like just once this clunk or bang noise when i switch from first to second, or everyonce in awhile when i step on it or first start it it will just make this bang noise it only does it once, some people told me it's the motor mount, and some peopple told me it's the strut can someone help me and tell me what it is plz. And also my check engine light comes on and goes off and comes on the car runs perfectly fine, do you know what that is can someone plz help me with these two questions if you know what they are thank-you.

Don't know about the CEL but a mount being bad is a safe bet. Check them out and see which one you need to replace.

Go outside and pop your hood, then rock your car back and forth. If you see your engine rocking you probably have a broken mount.
