Does it only do it when its cold? or cold outside? Check out the vacuum lines and make sure you don'y have any leaks. And you don't have a check engine light?

No cat?!?!?!?! Well, I dare say, no wonder it's be messin' with ya. PCM wants stats from the downstream O2 sensor, but getting none. If you're not running your car off-road, it's a federal offense not to run with a cat. I went aftermarket with a high-flow cat, had a weld shop put on a sensor bung, and have great exhaust flow WITH the PCM not knowing anything's different.

DART quit ur bitchin about the cat! Just about half the guys on here don't have a cat. The downstream O2 sensor only makes sure that the cat is doin its job. I say screw the cat! Mine is comin off too. And with the hi flows half of them throw a code too because the sensor doesn't realize that there is one on anyway. cause there is still too much flow. Its not worth the money to put one on.

WHITE go have the codes checked, your map sensor or tps might be on the fritz. Vacuum lines are always a good idea to check. Give those a shot too. Also see if any of them slipped off the TB. good luck. AND POST ANY FURTHER ISSUES OR IF IT FIXED IT!

RaGin, so very sorry for stepping on your toes. I understand why it's better performance to run w/o the cat in off-street driving. The rest of us have to keep it leagal 'cause they're our daily drivers. If you're on the street w/o a cat, I say a heart-felt, sarcastic 'Thanks' to you and your kind. You deserve all the problems you get for polluting the air that the rest of us have to breathe. I fully agree that the OE cats are crap. Prone to clogging up, They are GM's way of squeezing $$$ from us. High flow cats DO work, IF you put back everything else back on it its stock configuration. Yes, my 'Fire isn't exactly a testament to a highly modified street machine. I've done what I wanted to do (mostly) to make it run better, add a little fun-factor to driving. I haven't the time or money to spare to maintain a wild ride.

I have a after market cat and no problem with codes. you just have to know what your getting. go with a magnaflow theres tons of posts about which one to get. I think the part number i got on mine was 94035 which is a 2 1/4 pipe. so theres no need to say that theres no cat that doesnt throw codes cause a lot of people are using that with no problem
