ok im looking for a new starter for my cavalier, its a 98 z24 with a manual tranny. so my question is are the starters the same on all jobdys? for example, say a 97 2.2 auto have the same as a 03 2.2 DOHC? and do they all use the same as a 98 2.4 manual? im seeing if i cna find a used one cheep before i look for new.. please let me knwo and thanks in advance.

Any auto parts store can look that up for you. Won't take them a couple of minutes to cross.

different motors take different starters. They all bolt up differently.

You will need one for your exact application. 2.4L manual.
