ok so my check oil light keeps coming on for no reason
i changed my oil and installed a car customs upper motor mount in my 2.4l the other day and ever since then the check oil light comes on every time i start my car..every time i shut it off...pop the hood...check the oil..and its right where it should be
is there a sensor or something that is jacked up?
Maybe when you were in there changing your engine mount, you accidentally caused a wire or connection to come loose, say maybe the wire to the oil pressure sensor? Just a thought.
no this is his oil level light
ok, on the back of your oilpan is a sensor, the wires go down, and between ur pan and ur coolant pipe, make sure they aren't pinched, make sure your connector is conncted, if they are all good, you need an oil level sensor
On the 2.4 the oil press. sensor is between the cams where your sparkplugs are. Its round, on the tranny side of your engine. Check out the sensor. If not that could be a short.
oil pressure and oil level are 2 completely different things...and have to completely different lights

Okay, then check the wiring to your oil level sensor. My car has a single oil light that is checking only for pressure. I thought that was the light you were referring to but I guess you have an additional sensor that I don't have. My bad.
Talk to Ryan. He told me that the light is a normal prob on 96's. Said he always just ignored it. Both his 1996's did the same thing.
