on the gf's 98 z, we change the passenger side brakelight bulb constantly...the last one only lasted for 2 wks!! there is obviously something wrong, any help/suggestions would be appreciated! oh also, the running light continues to work, it is only the brakelight/signal that always stops working...

Mine does the same goddamn thing, except mine is on the driver side. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what is causing it.

Ok to explain this simply. What happens is the contacts inside the bulb socket are making poor contact or a bulb being NOT snug inside cause this problem. The best thing is to visually look at the contacts, make sure they are not COOKED or appear to have got real hot and ensure that the where the notches for the bulb are not out of round. The easiest way to remedy this is to replace the WHOLE socket with a new one.I know advance auto and auto zone both carry new sockets for gm cars etc in stock in the electrical area near the bulbs.Just put a new socket in and this should correct the issue unless u a bigger problem being in the wiring itself going to the socket it may be crimped or poor connection.I hope this book I wrote helps u better understand the issue at hand.

yes, it did! thank you...come to think of it the socket does look kinda fried, ill hit up the autoparts store for a new socket, as well as a couple sockets for the sidemarkers on my 97 lumina, prolly why thos lights refuse to work at all, huh
