No its not. This has been covered before but just to let you know according to G.M. it WILL damage and WILL void the warrenty on the car. Alcohol attacks aluminium and thats what your fuel system is made out of. If your car is designed to run it then its called a flex fuel vehicle if not then don't your just asking for problems. Now I'm sure someone will come on here and say I'm wrong or what not but this what G.M. has sent out as a service bullitin years ago. So if these guys here know more then G.M.'s engineers then by all means I'm sure they'll warrenty the car for you.

He's pretty much summed it up, it will also eat away any rubber bushings or connectors, or anything else that has to do with your fuel system. We just had a meeting on this topic the other day at the dealership that I work for. The only flec fuel vehicle that GM has on the markey currently are the silverado's witha 5.3 egines, as weel as the tahoes and the suburbans. Only because they all have a 5.3L engine in all of them. I think there is anouther engine that they make that is also compatible, but otherwise, no, your cavalier will not be ablt to use E-85 feuls.

P.S. I don't know what theses guys are talking about, but the last time that i checked, you can use the E-85 fuel in your car, it won't hurt the car any at all. It's cheaper than gasoline anyway.

SIGN ME UP!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU ST00PID NEWB FACE!!!! ASE CERTIFIED PSHHAWWW!

By the way, if you had to run Ethanol (not ETHONOL) then your car would barely be street legal. If you HAD to run Ethanol, your motor would be making so much power that your stock transmission wouldn't be able to handle all your "engine mods" so you would need work there too.

Don't come up with some BS about how you and your ASE certified sears tire mechanic buddies built your transmission because you didn't. I would be curious what your mods are.. honestly. Your credibility isn't there, you've proved that, so why don't you show me a picture of your engine atleast, because I wont believe a word you say about the mods you "have".

Also, calling a 400 HP GTO below you is really a retarded idea. Obviously you don't know anything and if you really are ASE certified, then I definitely would not want to know the certification process, because the only way you could get certified is if your buddy does the test for you or something.

yeah, but it's not even necessary unless you are actually making power. it's like saying "oh 93 octane wont ruin your car" but you don't even need it.... so why?

Madjack wrote:Like I said before, building an engine like ours (2.2 or 2200) is a painstaking chore , since there is so few custom made parts. It's frustrating to me too, but that's what I like about doing this engine, it's the challenge.

Hmmm, For some reason though the 02 only Eco's were also flex fuel capable, due to the different fuel system, oh well my dreams of cheaper gas just when out the door with the link in that last post, lol.

You can also make your own fuel. You need the following ingredients : Rubbing alcohol, cherry kool-aid, lime sherbet, polo sport cologne and a few cotton swabs.

Keep in mind, a tincan with holes punched in it and a tostito taped to your engine are not considered "engine mods". Now those Vtec badges and NOS stickers.. that's a different story, that's some REAL power. I put ten Vtec badges on my Cavalier and I was running 9 seconds all day long.

I missed you Jakie, you never call.. or write.. we haven't been together for a day Do you not love me anymore?
