i have had the car since about 120k miles, and as far as i know the last tuneup was around 90k miles....and i dont think any gaskets were replaced.
i know of a few, but i was wondering what are some good gaskets to replace at this mileage? just wanna make sure there arent any i forget.
the only gasket ive replaced is the tranny pan gasket. other then that...nothin
thanks!

heck...if it aint broke, dont fix it is my motto, but...
at 150k, likely the car will TELL you which ones to replace. As in when you go to fix something, replace any gaskets you disrupt fixing anything.
if you mean if youre just bored? uhm, valve pan gaskets?
i guess the main thing at 150k you would WANT to replace gasket wise would be the head gasket, which would of course include valve pan and intake manifold, and probably head bolts too, to do it right...but that will make you want to look at the valve train too closely, and then you'll be like, well, since were here, might as well see about the rings...and THEN you might as well drop the oil pan and see about the lower end bearings...lmao
its a can of worms. I'd maybe do the valve pan gaskets (?? what engine do you have?)if they look old, or seep. Other than that, if a compression test showed a-ok, i'd leave the rest till i had to.
on older cars, i was prone to pop off the valve pans, and clean up the gunk for something to do, make sure crap wasnt building up in the oil return passages, and use a rubber valve pan gasket instead of a cork to be slick...but, it isnt nearly as much fun with all the stuff in the way these days, lol.
my nissan, i would set the valve tappets more than i had to, to be anal, 'cos it was easy with a feeler guage, then everything went to those darn shims. i'll admit i havent adjusted valve lash on these newer setups these days, lol. I'm getting to feel like a dinosaur. (sigh)
Is an '82 Olds Firenza a "Flash Ride" ?
i have a 2.4L 1996 z24, and one of the gaskets its seeping slowly, really not even enough to lose much oil between oil changes, but i do want to fix it so it doesnt get worse. im not sure where its comming from, it is from the top, and it looks to be comming from right above the spark plug holes on both sides.
would that be the valve cover gasket? i think the head gasket is below the spark plugs isnt it?
